Professional Experience

Production Planning

I started my planning journey in February 2009 when I transitioned from the Design & Process Engineering department at Saudi Lighting Co. to Production Planning as a supervisor. "Automation" was the key driver behind my move to PP.

Initial Situation:

  • Production department executing jobs based on sales orders with subsequent Job Order releases
  • Master production plan updated manually by offline daily query to ERP for new sales orders without updating existing or closed orders, causing supply duplication and shortages
  • Raw material availability issues with no pre-production checks, resulting in production stoppages during assembly

My Approach:

  • Understanding internal processes through active listening to PP staff and studying workflows
  • Automating time-consuming tasks and implementing process improvements
  • Creating a 100% integration between Master Production Schedule and the ERP Demand & Supply database

Developed numerous Visual Basic tools since 2009 to streamline planning processes and increase efficiency.
